Cathy is Kate's mom, who was portrayed by Maura Tierney in the 2024 film, Twisters.
Biography[]
Cathy is loving mom, who always supported Kate's work when she chased tornadoes. Before the disaster that killed Kate's boyfriend, Cathy had offered for everyone to come back for a barbeque after chasing the tornado. She also let Kate and her crew use the barn to work on their experiments. After Jeb and the others died, her daughter moved away. Cathy stayed in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, but Kate didn't call home or visit often.
After five years, Kate shows up at Cathy's door and Cathy welcomed her back in. She made a place for Kate to sleep and even invited Tyler Owens to stay after he showed up. She made Tyler and Kate dinner and seemed hopeful that Kate would return home more often.
